🧠Mind-Reading AI Unlocks Secrets of Your Thoughts – Can Your Privacy Survive?

In a groundbreaking study, researchers from the University of Texas at Austin utilized a ChatGPT-like AI model to reconstruct human thoughts from functional MRI (fMRI) recordings with an accuracy of up to 82%. This breakthrough unlocks new potential in neuroscience, communication, and human-machine interfaces, while also raising concerns about mental privacy. The AI model was able to decode intelligible word sequences from perceived speech, imagined speech, and silent videos with remarkable accuracy, prompting scientists to emphasize the need for policies to protect individuals from potential misuse as this technology advances.

Although researchers found that the decoding was less accurate when subjects attempted to resist by using various techniques, they acknowledge that future decoders might overcome these limitations. As the potential for misuse of this technology increases, the importance of raising awareness of the risks associated with brain decoding technology and enacting policies to protect mental privacy becomes paramount.

🛑 Samsung Slams the Brakes on ChatGPT: Security Concerns Spark Company-Wide Ban on AI Tools

Samsung has reportedly issued a temporary ban on the use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT, Bing, and Google Bard by its employees after the company's source code was leaked by several employees last month. The ban comes as the company is said to be working on its own in-house AI tools, and follows similar actions taken by other companies, such as JP Morgan Chase, Amazon, Verizon, and Accenture, in forbidding the use of ChatGPT.

The ban is a response to an incident where three employees leaked sensitive data using ChatGPT. Samsung is now developing its own generative AI tools for in-house use but does not seem to have any recourse to demand the sensitive information back from OpenAI. The company is currently reviewing security measures to create a secure environment for safely using generative AI tools to enhance employee productivity and efficiency.

🥧 Meet Pi: The Friendly AI Companion Stirring Mixed Reactions

Inflection AI recently launched its Personal AI, Pi, aiming to provide users with a kind and supportive digital companion. However, some users have expressed disappointment, claiming it feels like a slower version of ChatGPT. Pi emphasizes natural, flowing conversations and offers friendly advice as well as concise information. Developed using proprietary AI technology, Pi prioritizes human interaction over productivity and search tasks, functioning as a coach, confidante, creative partner, or sounding board. Pi can be accessed on various platforms such as Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, SMS, online, and on iPhone or iPad, with an Android version expected soon. [Try Pi Here]

When asked what the differences are between ChatGPT and Pi the answer was… interesting 👇
